On Startup Finance and Product Demos
Okay, let's get straight to business.
1. The Entrepreneurial Finance Workshop
As you know (at least, I hope you do), CapitalSquare is currently running a 10-week Entrepreneurship course with our friends at BAU Online and Strategy Q. It's a combination of online classes and physical workshops at our coworking space (see here for more details). Anyhow, there's a workshop coming up in about 10 days, that we think lots of people will be interested in.
That's our Entrepreneurial Finance workshop. It's going to be 3 hours of discussions and practical advice on everything an entrepreneur needs to know about money: from getting investors to give you some, to ensuring your business will make you some, not spending stupidly when you finally get money, and keeping the tax man happy.
Let's be honest, if there's anything an entrepreneur thinks about, it's money. So if you're interested in finding out a bit more, sign up on the event page here.
2. Demo Day #2
(Yay!) After an amazing first edition of Demo Day (pictures coming soon), we're planning another one to hold on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. It'll be same as before, just a bit more organized, with 3 startups coming to pitch their ideas to enthusiasts, the media, and potential investors and customers. It's going to be an intimate (funny word, isn't it?) event with a lot of discussions, suggestions, and feedback for our startups, and a chance to increase your reach.
So, why should you come?
- If you're a startup, you get a chance to put your idea and your work out there, maybe reach a set of people that you previously couldn't. You'll get a lot of valuable feedback from the people who will invest in and/or use your product, and you just might get your big break.
- If you're an investor, well, you want to invest in something new and interesting and will probably make you a lot of money, right? Thought so.
- If you're an enthusiast, then I don't even need to explain it to you. You'll find out some more cool stuff to add to the cool stuff you already know, and probably find a new product you can't live without.
Btw, leading up to the event, we'll have a few blog posts dedicated to the presenters at our last event, with information about their business, the Demo Day experience, and their presentations from that day. So keep your eyes open!
That's all for now. Stay productive!
