Faces and Lessons from Breakfast Club with Chude Jideonwo
On Thursday, 21st April 2016, we had the third edition of our Breakfast Club and it was with Chude Jideonwo of Red Media Africa. The theme of the event was Creating Value and the event held at Sao Cafe, Lekki. It was the first time we took Breakfast Club outside CapitalSquare and Sao Cafe was just the perfect host location.
Breakfast club started at the allotted time. Chude started by telling us about how he setup Red media group with a few friends and how it took about 5 years to break even. He told us of the need to come down to the normal man level to move to the next big level. In his words: "To set up a business, look for the mistakes others in the same line have made and correct it to do better than they did"
There was a Question and Answer session where Chude explained clearly what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur and how to create value for one's business, in line with the theme of the event.
He also talked about how Red media is run as an open policy company and encouraged upcoming Entrepreneurs to leave out the contemporary boss settings at the office and get involved in the lives of employees to enable them to have longer relationships with your company. He discouraged Arrogance and implored employers to make their workplace friendly for their Employees. He said :
"In starting a company you don't need a lot of funds or to borrow money, just go ahead and start and seek support from close friends and acquaintances."
There were lots of advices passed around and everyone attested to the fact that they learnt a lot. There was food (Plenty yummy Breakfast food) and a photo session. Find pictures below:
